AquaBio Completes Mini Constructed Wetland for Knott’s Berry Farm
Buena Park, CA – March 17, 2017 – Today was marked by AquaBio’s successful installation of a mini constructed wetland in Knott’s Berry Farm’s Luau Lagoon.
The lagoon has recently been dealing with water quality issues, and Knott’s contacted AquaBio Environmental Technologies to help solve their problems. With a fairly large population of animals including turtles and various species of ducks, the water takes on an increased nutrient load than normal. Here is where AquaBio stepped in with the constructed wetland solution.
Constructed wetlands are a form of wastewater treatment that relies on phytoremediation, or the use of natural plant processes to clean a site. We take these same concepts, and apply them to smaller scale situations with great success. By selecting visually appealing plant species with proven remediation capabilities, the mini wetland will restore clarity to the previously murky body of water and provide ongoing water clarification services for the lagoon with minimal upkeep.
We will continue to monitor the situation at the lagoon and share its progress.
