Summer is here! There is no better time to enjoy and appreciate your local lakes, ponds and reservoirs. With over 3000 named lakes and reservoirs in California alone there are plenty to choose from.

Boating, fishing, and swimming are a few of the activities we partake in while visiting our lakes. There are also other often hidden roles lakes and reservoirs play. They provide drinking water, irrigate our agricultural fields, can be a source of electricity, help prevent floods and of course provide homes for wildlife.

This is a great opportunity to show appreciation for our lakes by learning a little more about potential problems they may face, and what as citizens we can do about them.

AquaBio is helping to sponsor a fish derby at Belvedere Lake, in Los Angeles California July 1nd registration starts at 6:30 am Fishing 7:00am to 11:00 pm.

Please come and join us and see the amazing work we are doing with the city to keep the lake healthy and balanced to be enjoyed by people and wildlife alike.
